Last Thursday, I enviously thought of the 4 day long weekend that Gari would have for Thanksgiving; apart from it, Thanksgiving was only a foreign festival to me.
About 12:30 pm, we set out for lunch, Ric, Ru and I, then followed the usual lunch traditions, food, eating and chit chatter (I just love the lunch table conversations that we have 
). The discussion that day centred on marriage and what according to each of us was the right age to get hitched and more importantly, who would be a good match for us and how to find such real matches <sigh!>
And then, came out an old story, the lesser known story of some remote individuals, a story we could have never imagined to be true! But it was! Lunch got over in sometime and we were back to our dear old bugs and codes.
It was not getting out of my head. I remembered how at times, I made huge fuss of very trivial things, how I would see my world fall apart if even the tiniest detail got out of place, and here there were people fighting actual battles in life, still keeping up their spirits without one complaint. The mere thought that anything can strike anyone at any time was enough to send shudders down my spine.
I closed my eyes, thought of all the people and things that matter to me and smiled with much more satisfaction this time.
Thanksgiving will never be the same again!
